Cyborg is set in a generic post-apocalyptic future on America’s east coast where a ‘Slider’ (a transportation bodyguard) played by Jean-Claude Van Damme agrees to help a cyborg make her way to Atlanta so she can deliver a cure for the plague to the world’s last bastion of science and civilization.
But the cyborg is quickly kidnapped by roving Pirates led by a large blue-eyed thug named Fender. The Slider then teams up with another young woman and they set of in pursuit. Much chasing and fighting follows, and the cyborg is not in the story very much until the end.
The costumes are the best part about this movie, as they’re a blend of sartorial influence form Mad Max, The Lost Boys, Waterworld, and Robin Hood Prince of Thieves. The story is simple and full of holes, but don’t worry about that. You’re working out, remember? Just enjoy the vibe, the utterly implausible fight scenes, and the unique style.
